WEEK 2: MIS LECTURE AND SEMINAR
1. REFLECTION ON THE MIS LECTURE AND SEMINAR
I was absent at this weeks lecture as I had a hospital appointment. I did email the lecture to take permission
This week's seminar started with group presentations on how to analyse a business case. Each group representative make presentation on what they understand is a business case, the role of an analyst, the typical steps required to analyse a business case and what is involved in the previous steps. This seminar clarified requirements and pointed us in the right direction towards working on our group business case project.
The second part of the seminar dealt with data entry and the use of formulas in excel. We did an excercise starting with a blank workbook. We proceeded with data inputs and calculating the datas using different formulas. The formulas we dealt with included additions, find averages, counting, finding the largest and smallest numbers, multiplications, divisions, percentages, and using "Show Formula" menu to display the formulas on the screen.
2. REFLECTION ON MIS GROUP PROJECT/CASE STUDY
This week we worked on the presentation we made in the seminar this week on how to analyse a business case. We were given this last week to work on. We used our group's Whatsapp chat and LSBU email platform to me communicate and work on this assignment throughout the week. Each member of the group was able to make contributions to the document through email as we communicate over Whatsapp. It did show that with the communication platforms and resources available people could work effectively as a team even when in disparate locations and we hope to adapt this model in the execution of our business case
